Peter Kernan

Lawyer | Commercial and Property Law

Peter Kernan is a NSW Law Society Accredited Specialist in Property Law and has been practising as a lawyer on the Central Coast since 1989.

Specialist Accreditation is a structured peer to peer assessment process enabling legal practitioners to be recognised for their expertise. To be accredited as a specialist Peter had to pass a series of meticulous assessments on both legal knowledge and it’s application in practice. To retain his accreditation, Peter must undertake significant additional professional development in property law each year.

This level of experience and specialized knowledge enables Peter to provide expert advice and assistance in complex property transactions, including residential and commercial conveyancing and having a particular expertise in “off the plan” development work for vendors and purchasers.

Peter is also able to provide complex advice in the areas of estate planning, including the drafting of wills incorporating testamentary trusts, powers of attorney and enduring guardianship. Peter works in conjunction with your accountant and/or financial adviser to achieve a result that will ensure your wishes are carried out as you want them to be and at the same time ensuring that the advice is tax effective.

Peter believes in putting back in to the local community having lived on the Central Coast for over 40 years. Peter acts as honorary solicitor for various local sporting and community organisations including Wamberal Surf Life Saving Club, Terrigal Junior RLFC, Terrigal Surf Life Saving Club and Terrigal Trojans Rugby Club. Peter has also held numerous positions on school and club committees in the local area.

Peter is a board member of the not for profit organization Central Coast Disability Options which provides support services for mainly young people with a disability.
